Ute Pass Area
Ute Pass Towns– Green Mountain Falls, Cascade, Chipita Park, Crystola
Ute Pass area is located along Highway 24 west of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs and is popular for its natural beauty, picturesque mountainsides, and location to the Rocky Mountains and the West. Ute Pass was originally used by the Ute Indians as a corridor access from the plains to the mountains. The small cluster of scenic mountain towns nestled in the Pikes Peak foothills along Ute Pass are Green Mountain Falls, Cascade, Chipita Park, and Crystola. Throughout these towns you see a common theme: peacefulness, views, and wildlife. Each of these towns has an added summer population – ‘summer residents’ as many people have cabins and homes which are occupied in summer only. Year round residents enjoy the area, not only for the mountain appeal and unique lifestyle, but also its closeness to employment, services, and the ‘city feel’ of Colorado Springs.
These towns are populated with log cabins, rustic homes, Victorian homes and contemporary homes. Their locations range from close to center of town and along the stream to homes set near the ridge and scattered along the mountainsides of both the north and south areas of Highway 24. Driving through Ute Pass, perhaps to other towns such as Woodland Park, a small town with a bigger town feel; or to Divide, a small mountain town located on the western edge of Ute Pass – you see amazing views on both the north and side sides. Take a detour along the frontage roads and stop in to the many locally owned businesses, cafes and restaurants, and shops where you will find friendly owners and locals galore!
